Becoming a registered social worker was always more than a job for me, it was a calling that continues to inspire me everyday. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Social Work while diving into private practice world.
I’ve spent a decade of my career working in the complex systems of mental health and community services, five years of which have been within rural and indigenous communities of Labrador as a social worker & mental health counselor.
Having a personal and professional experience working within the constraints of the mental health system has pushed me to take charge of my passion and offer people the care they need in my own practice. Becoming a mother to three loving children (two of which are twins) has been one of the biggest challenge and accomplishment of my life, igniting a love for perinatal and early parenthood counselling.
The theoretical approaches I tend practice with are person-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy taking a trauma- informed approach.
Most importantly I want to create a safe space for my client and I to build a therapeutic relationship where you can then discover your strengths , heal and grow in any or all areas of your life.
